 2008 CAMPING CONTEST
THEME: "Sizzlin' Hot Campsite"
Build a Sizzlin’ Hot Campsite and if you are good, you may win tickets to Moondance Jam 18! If you are REALLY good, you could also end up with some Billy's Backstage passes with StageBox viewing!
What is a Sizzlin' Hot campsite? That is up to your interpretation. Beaches, BBQs, and Chili Peppers are hot, but we are pretty sure you have some other sizzlin' hot ideas. We see some pretty amazing campsites every year.
Get your camping crew together and get creative. Then make sure you register your campsite using the form at the bottom of the page so we can find you when our judges hit the trails.
JUDGING
- Judging
is based on the quality and originality of the campsite. Judging is completely
subjective.
- There
is a registration form at the bottom of the page. Please fill out and submit the form to make sure we can find your site.
- We
will have preliminary judges going around to check ALL campsites
on Thursday late morning and afternoon. The preliminary judges
will decide the top campsites from each campground area and
record their locations for the finals. If no one is at your site, but most of your decorations are up, we will notice and either stop back later or leave a note if you make the finals, so that you can be prepared. We cannot guarantee times that we will be around because of the size of the area and number of campsites we have to cover in the preliminaries.
- Your hosts, Bill &
Kathy, along with the finalist judging crew will then hit the trails
on Friday from approximately 11am - 3pm to judge the campsites
that make the finals.
WINNERS
- There
will be six winning campsites again this year. One winner will be chosen from each camping area:
North Reserved, North Wooded Reserved, South Reserved, South Wooded Reserved, South
Reserved Electrical and General campsites. There will also be one Grand Champion chosen from the winning campsites.
- The winning
campsites will be notified and then announced on stage on Saturday.
PRIZES
- Winning
campsites will receive tickets for Moondance Jam 18. One winning campsite from each campground.
- The Grand Champion Campsite will also win passes to Billy's Backstage Bar and access to the Stage Box the for their choice of either the 5:00, 7:00 or 9:00 show on Saturday.
- A
maximum of six people per winning campsite are eligible for prizes.
- A video of all of the camping contest will be shown at various times on the JumboTron on Saturday.
