The Fabulous Armadillos came out of their shell in 2006 and have since established a large and loyal following in Central Minnesota with their spot on recreations of songs from many genres of music from Country to Motown from Heavy Metal to Soft Rock and do them just like you remember. Close your eyes and you are listening to all those records again. The idea of the Fabulous Armadillos started as a diverse group of musicians who came together to perform "themed" concerts at theaters throughout the state. Themes like "One Hit Wonders", "Woodstock", "Motown and Soul", "80's Prom Night", "Arena Rock" and more. Since their beginning, they have played over 30 themes all over the state....each one selling out quickly and tickets sought after for their brand of fun and entertaining, yet musically spot on theater shows. They have brought hundreds of special guests in for their shows including Jim Peterik (38 Special, Ides Of March, Survivor), Alex Ligertwood (Jeff Beck Group, Santana), Barry Goudreau (Boston) and many more. The core band features musicians with a deep history with some great regional and national bands from their past including Greg "Gary D." Armstrong on keys (GB Leighton, Bobby Vee, The Vees), Paul "Stretch" Diethelm on guitar (Jonny Lang, Slip Twister), Billy Scherer on vocals (Johnny Holm Band), Pamela McNeill on vocals (Pamela McNeill Band, Rumours and Dreams, Lamont Cranston) Mike Zeleny on bass (Airtight, Slip Twister). Jay O'Donnell on drums (The Britton Brothers, Slip Twister). Their 8 piece band also features a horn section with Pat Thorn on trumpet and Mike Krietzer on saxophone. COME OUT OF YOUR SHELL and see what everybody has been talking about!
The Dillos plan on doing a "best of" show from of all their themed shows at Moondance, with music ranging from ACDC to Zeppelin, Motown to One Hit Wonders.
